01 — FREEDOM FROM LICENSE “

For most of the 1950s Nissan built Austin cars under licence. In 1960 it launched a flagship of its own:

The monocoque Cedric

02 — THE 2,690 MM STANCE “

Nissan’s catalogue called the cabin a salon and sold the car to Japan’s leaders in politics, government and business. Its 2,690 mm wheelbase was the longest in its class.

03 — DOMESTIC FIRSTS “

The Custom offered Japan’s first fully automatic gearbox: a three-speed BorgWarner, selected through L, D, N, R and P.

( s pecifications )

Nissan’s first monocoque flagship sedan,

restored to preserve domestic automotive history.
